How the predictor works

Khamis-Roche — the method pediatricians use.

Step 1

Enter your stats

Age, current height, current weight, sex, and your parents' heights. Imperial or metric. Takes about 20 seconds.

Step 2

Khamis-Roche math

We apply the Khamis-Roche regression coefficients — the most accurate non-X-ray method, validated against the Fels longitudinal study (1929–1969).

Step 3

Get your prediction

Your predicted adult height with a ±2 inch confidence range, percentile context, and a breakdown of what's influencing the result.

Frequently asked

Questions, answered.

How accurate is the Heightmog height predictor?

+
We use the Khamis-Roche method — the same methodology pediatric endocrinologists use to estimate adult height without bone-age X-rays. Accuracy is typically within ±2 inches for ~80% of people. It uses your current height, weight, age, sex, and your parents' heights to estimate where you'll likely end up. Like all predictions, individual results vary based on nutrition, sleep, puberty timing, and genetics.

When do growth plates close?

+
Growth plates (epiphyseal plates) close at different ages depending on the bone and your sex. For most males, growth plates in the long bones (femur, tibia) fuse between ages 15-19. For most females, fusion happens earlier — typically between 13-17. Once plates close, you've reached your final adult height. Our Growth Plate Status Quiz helps you estimate where you are in this process based on age, puberty stage, and growth velocity.

Can I still grow taller as a teenager or adult?

+
Most males stop growing between 16-21, most females between 14-19. After growth plates close, height-increase claims are not supported by scientific evidence (with the exception of limb-lengthening surgery, which is a medical procedure). What you CAN do at any age: improve posture, build proper muscle mass, get adequate sleep (growth hormone releases during deep sleep), and maintain good nutrition. These won't add bone length but can preserve your true height ceiling.

Is Heightmog medical advice?

+
No. Heightmog provides educational height predictions based on widely-used methods (Khamis-Roche, mid-parental height, CDC growth charts). It is not a substitute for advice from a pediatrician, endocrinologist, or healthcare provider. If you have concerns about your or your child's growth, talk to a doctor.

Do you store my data?

+
No. Heightmog tools run entirely in your browser. We don't store the stats you enter, we don't ask for an email to use the tools, and we don't track individual results. The optional email-list signup (if you choose) only stores your address for our growth-tracking newsletter.
